What it is?

The UNL Centre created the UNL SOCIETY as an informal collaborating and support group for the development and testing the UNL. Membership includes individuals and organizations, including businesses interested in UNL development and deployment. They enter the association by signing an agreement , by which they adhere to a very single set of rules which essentially specifies the benefits and obligations, as follows:
  • Benefits
The member has acces to the UNL resources free of charge, and can use them for R&D or experiments, tests, research and other non-commercial activities. They will be the first to be provided with the new developments of the UNL in terms of language, system and tools. The will have privilege access information-sharing on the UNL general and on experimental test. For details please visit: www.undl.org/unlsys/ds.html
  • Obligations
Respect the property rights of the UNL language, system and tools provided by the UNL Centre, and refrain from commercial activities of products generated from or in conjunction with the UNL, without prior consent from UNL Centre; if opportunities for commercial activities emerge, a separate specific agreement shall be signed between the UNL Centre and the Society member, in which the property rights shall be clearly defined and royalties or other advantages properly stipulated.

The UNL Society Members are encouraged to undertake research and studies on and for the development or improvement of the UNL. When published, reference to the UNL source shall be made.

It is anticipated that as UNL gain strength, the UNL Society will naturally evolve into a more formal and structured autonomous scientific and technological society, with its own statute, form of governance, and programme of activities.
