President
The President of the UNDL Foundation has been with the United Nations University in Tokyo from 1988 to 2000, at first as Director of Planning and Development, and then as a Vice-Rector. He is the founding Director of the Institute of Advanced Studies of the United Nations University, in Tokyo (1995 - 2000), where the UNL was born.
His professional life has been associated with the world of knowledge. With Doctor degree from Harvard University, and a Master's from the Institute Catholique de Paris he crosses various intellectual disciplines and cultural environments. He worked as university professor and served in high-level functions, both within the Ministry of Education and at the National Council of Science and Technology in his home country, Brazil.
Prof. Della Senta is the author or co-author of a number of institutional and national plans in Brazil (National Plan for Post-graduate Education, and the II Basic Plan for Science and Technology), as well as at United Nations University (II Medium-Term Perspective 1990-1996) and the UNU Agenda 21 for Environmentally Sustainable Development. He published number of papers and is the co-editor of two books: UNL, a Gift for a Millennium, UNU/IAS, 1999; Access to Knowledge, the Emergence of the Virtual University, Oxford University Press, 2000.
