UNL Documents of UNL-EOLSS Project

home

These UNL Documents are provided by the UNL Center of UNDL Foundation for developers to improve their language deconverters. People who attend the UNL-EOLSS project have access to these UNL documents.

The UNL expressions of sentences of these UNL documents are made by a semi-automatic process: convert English texts into node(morpheme) lists using English Morphological Analysis tool (MoraE), check the node lists by English speakers, enconvert the node lists into UNL expressions using English EnConverter (EnCoE), and verify the UNL expressions using UNL verifier and English DeConverter (DeCoE).

We adopted this semi-automatic process because we believe with it we can achieve mass production of UNL documents. There will be mistakes in the results of UNL expressions. Mistakes can be reduced by improving English Morphological Analysis tool, EnConverter and UNL verifier.  And, we would appreciate it very much if you inform us whenever you find a mistake, we will make the correction immediately and update the UNL files.

Notes

  1. links to data files are prepared in advance, but the date will be ready at the delivery date and revised at the latest update date.
  2. snum shows the number of sentences, wnum shows the number of words of each article.
  3. each of UW files contains all UWs used in each UNL file, these files are also revised when corresponding UNL files are revised.
  4. separated UNLs within [S] and [/S] can be dealt with using DeCo version 2006, which can be downloaded at http://www.undl.org/unlsys/ds.html.
  5. quotes, parentheses and brackets that enclose sentences are put outside sentence tags [S] and [/S] as they are. A revision of DeCo 2006 available at http://www.undl.org/unlsys/ds.html from 070313 can deal with a UNL document including these marks.
